As you may have read in the
San Antonio Express News, Texas MedClinic announced Tuesday that it will sever ties with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, effective October 18th.
Four years ago, TSAOG also parted ways with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas after the insurance company moved to lower reimbursement rates to our physicians for the third time in three years.
Chris Kean, Chief Operating Officer at TSAOG, commented that reduced reimbursements are not sustainable given the rising cost of healthcare and "it is inevitable that all medical providers will be faced with deciding to acquiesce to the terms dictated by such carriers or to take a stand on behalf of patients and their care."
