Dr. Ochoa is an orthopeaedic surgeon specializing in complex shoulder arthroscopy, sports medicine and general orthopaedics.


Dr. Ochoa grew up south of San Antonio in Laredo, TX prior to accepting an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. He graduated with Merit from the Naval Academy before attending U.T. Southwestern Medical School where he received his Medical Degree. Dr. Ochoa completed his internship in General Surgery at Naval Hospital San Diego where he was chosen Surgical Intern of the Year. After serving two years as a general medical officer, he returned to Naval Hospital San Diego where he completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery. His residency experience in San Diego included sports medicine, joint arthroplasty, as well as trauma training at the University of California San Diego and Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Ochoa returned to Texas to spend four years practicing general orthopedics and sports medicine while stationed in Corpus Christi, TX for the U.S. Navy. Upon completion of his Navy commitment he completed an Arthroscopic Shoulder Fellowship specializing in complex shoulder pathology with Dr. Stephen S. Burkhart of the San Antonio Orthopedic Group.
