Dr. W. Parker Abblitt is an orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in Total Joint Replacement, with TSAOG Orthopaedics (formerly The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group). He treats orthopedic conditions with a focus upper on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery and complex joint reconstructions for patients 14 years of age and older.

He has appointments available at our Stone Oak, and Medical Center locations.

Dr. Abblitt is an orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship trained in Total Joint Replacement focusing on minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery and complex revision joint reconstructions. 

He graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University, where he earned degrees in both Economics and Engineering.  Dr. Abblitt completed his medical training at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  Upon graduating medical school, Dr. Abblitt completed his residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Throughout his residency, Dr. Abblitt published multiple research papers on joint replacement surgery and general orthopaedic trauma. He also was awarded The Resident Research Grant from the Orthopaedic Research and Educational Foundation to study novel makers in joint fluid to help treat patients with joint replacement complications.

Dr. Abblitt completed a fellowship in Total Joint Replacement at the renowned Rush University in Chicago, IL.  There he learned advanced techniques in surgical methods from innovators in the field of minimally invasive and revision joint replacement surgery.

Following his fellowship, Dr. Abblitt was able to bring his Texan wife, Whitney, home alongside their two boys.  Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Abblitt is an avid college football and Atlanta Braves fan who also enjoys hunting, skiing, and golfing.
