Charles E. Bryant, M.D.

Dr. Bryant is an Anesthesiologist, fellowship trained in Multidisciplinary Pain Medicine, with TSAOG Orthopaedics (formerly The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group). He is board certified by The American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)  in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and treats patients aged 12 years and older.

As a pain management physician, Doctor Bryant has a special interest in restoration of functional capacity and quality of life improvement, and utilizes a multidisciplinary approach (to include spinal/peripheral nerve injections, neuromodulation, conservative medication management, rehabilitative techniques, and physical therapy) to help patients get back on track.

He has appointments available at our Brooks City Base, Quarry Area, and Schertz clinic locations.

Dr. Charles Bryant is an Interventional Pain Management physician primarily focused on diagnosing and treating a variety of conditions, to include musculoskeletal and spinal conditions, neuropathic pain, and other chronic pain states. He completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He subsequently completed subspecialty training in Pain Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He is board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Prior to joining TSAOG, Dr. Bryant practiced both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine as an active duty physician in the US Army, where he gained extensive experience in the management of both acute and chronic pain by caring for combat casualties in deployed and stateside environments. Dr. Bryant is particularly interested in restoration of functional capacity and quality of life improvement, and utilizes a multidisciplinary approach (to include spinal/peripheral nerve injections, neuromodulation, conservative medication management, rehabilitative techniques, and physical therapy) to help patients get back on track.

In his spare time, Dr. Bryant enjoys spending time with his family, world travel, exercise, and sports.

  • Acute and chronic injuries of the neck, back, and major joints
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Neuropathic pain due to diabetes, chemotherapy, or other causes

  • Cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral epidural steroid injections
  • Diagnostic/therapeutic spinal and peripheral joint injections (utilizing fluoroscopy and ultrasound)
  • Radiofrequency neurotomy/ablation
    • Spinal facet joints, vertebral body/basivertebral nerve abalation (Intracept procedure)
  • Sympathetic nerve blocks (stellate ganglion, celiac plexus, lumbar sympathetic plexus, superior hypogastric plexus)
  • Peripheral nerve blocks/pulsed radiofrequency ablation
  • Spinal cord stimulation (dorsal column and dorsal root ganglion)
  • Peripheral nerve stimulation
  • Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections
