An Achilles tendon repair is a surgery to fix a tear in the large tendon at the back of your ankle. This tendon connects your calf muscles to your heel bone and helps you walk, run, and push off your foot. When the Achilles tendon tears, you may feel a sudden snap, followed by pain and difficulty pointing your foot or standing on your toes. During the procedure, the surgeon stitches the torn ends back together to restore strength and allow the tendon to heal properly, helping you return to normal activities over time.
