A clavicle fracture is a break in your collarbone, which connects your shoulder to your chest. This is a common injury from falls, sports, or accidents. Many clavicle fractures can heal with a sling and time, but some breaks need surgery to realign and stabilize the bone using a plate and screws. Surgical repair helps the bone heal in the right position, restores shoulder strength and movement, and can reduce the risk of long-term problems.
