M. Brandon Dobson, M.D.





Dr. Dobson is the Medical Director of Anesthesiology for TSAOG. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) and treats patients aged one year and older.

Dr. Dobson has a special interest in acute pain management, multimodal analgesia, and ultrasound guided regional anesthesia. He performs care team based anesthesia at the Orthopaedic Surgery Center of San Antonio.

Dr. Dobson is a board certified anesthesiologist with extensive experience preventing/alleviating acute pain associated with musculoskeletal surgeries and procedures. He performs general and ultrasound guided regional anesthesia (nerve blocks) of the upper and lower extremities at the Orthopaedic Surgery Center of San Antonio.

Dr. Dobson was raised in Midland, Texas, where he attended Robert E. Lee High School. He later earned a B.S. in Biology from Texas Tech University. He received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. His residency training was completed at Scott and White Memorial Hospital, Texas A & M University Health Science Center in Temple, Texas, where he received the Brindley award, given to the most outstanding anesthesia resident, for three consecutive years. His residency was heavily focused on regional anesthesia for the treatment of acute and chronic pain.

Dr. Dobson has been in private practice in San Antonio since 2007 primarily providing general and regional anesthesia services for both inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic surgeries. He has served as the Medical Director of Anesthesiology for TSAOG since 2016. His interest is in providing optimal care and desired outcomes for his patients by employing the latest techniques and evidence based medicine.

Dr. Dobson and his wife, Heather, are the proud parents of two children. Outside of work, he enjoys cross-fit, traveling, and is an avid hunter.
