All non-urgent orthopedic concerns are now eligible to be scheduled for OthoConnect telemedicine consultations at TSAOG Orthopaedics & Spine.
Telemedicine is the process of using HIPAA compliant video applications to conduct appointments between patients and healthcare providers.
At TSAOG, we call our telemedicine service OrthoConnect because it connects you with your orthopedic physician and allows you to get the care you need, when you need it, from anywhere.
The benefits of telemedicine include safety and increased access to care for patients. At TSAOG Orthopaedics, the health and safety of our patients, our providers, and TSAOG is always our top priority. As we work to address the threat of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to provide options for our patients to get the care that they need in a safe and timely way to that respects social distancing guidelines.
Telemedicine consultations are the best way to do that for patients with non-urgent orthopedic concerns.
All non-urgent orthopedic concerns are now eligible to be scheduled for telemedicine consultations.
OthoConnect consultations might include:
Telemedicine consultations are billed to your insurance the same way that a visit to your doctor’s office would be, so your financial responsibility will vary based upon your individual insurance coverage. During the COVID-19 pandemic, many commercial insurers have agreed to waive patient cost sharing for these appointments, but we encourage you to verify your plan’s individual coverage for telemedicine prior to your appointment.
If you are uninsured and paying our of pocket for your telemedicine consultation, your cost would be $75 for a new patient or $50 for an established/follow up patient visit.
To schedule an OrthoConnect telemedicine consultation, please call us at 210-281-9595.
After your appointment is scheduled, someone from your provider’s team will call you to prepare you for your appointment. The team member will ask you what kind of device you have available for the appointment (smartphone, tablet, laptop/desktop computer) so they can determine the best way to connect with you.
You will then receive an email inviting you to join your telemedicine visit and, when instructed, you will click the link to connect with your doctor.
