Dr. Christian Balldin Presents at Vail International Complex Knee Symposium

TSAOG sports medicine specialist Dr. Christian Balldin presented last week at the Vail International Complex Knee Symposium (VICKS). Surgeons from around the world turned up to attend and present.

Dr. Balldin gave a lecture entitled “Meniscal Root and Radial Root Tears – A Missed Epidemic?” as well as a live surgical demonstration of a posterolateral corner (PLC) reconstruction.  He also assisted in the dissections and surgical procedures the attending surgeons were learning in the wet lab on cadaver specimens.  It was an anatomically based symposium and focused on reconstruction of many of the ligament, mensiscus, and malalignment issues that can occur around the knee.

Dr. Christian Balldin is an orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in sports medicine, with The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group. He treats patients aged 3 years and older for any sports-related injury as well as conditions of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He has a special interest in mutiligamentous knee reconstruction.
