Interest in soccer has been growing in the US in recent years. It’s a sport where you don’t need a lot of equipment to play, just a ball and some shin guards to protect your shin bones (tibias) from injury.

However, one of the most common injuries in soccer is not a contact injury at all, but an injury that occurs to the knee when pivoting or changing direction. These are called Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tearsLearn more about ACL injuries and how to prevent them.
